SSC CPO Exam Syllabus

Understanding the syllabus is crucial for effective preparation. The SSC CPO exam covers a wide range of topics across multiple papers:

  • Paper-I:

    • General Intelligence and Reasoning: Logical reasoning, analogy, problem-solving, pattern recognition, syllogisms, blood relations.

    • General Knowledge and General Awareness: Current events, India and its neighboring countries, sports, history, culture, geography, economic scene, general polity, Indian constitution, scientific research.

    • Quantitative Aptitude: Whole numbers, decimals, fractions and relationships between numbers, Percentage, Ratio and Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest, Profit & Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Allegation, Time and distance, Time & Work.

    • English Comprehension: Error recognition, filling in the blanks, vocabulary, spellings, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms, sentence completion, phrases and idiomatic use of words, comprehension.

  • Paper-II:

    • English Language & Comprehension: Questions on understanding and knowledge of the English language, error recognition, filling in the blanks, vocabulary, spellings, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms, sentence completion, phrases and idioms, comprehension of passages.

 

Eligibility Criteria for SSC CPO

The eligibility to apply for SSC CPO is defined under several criteria:

  • Nationality:

    • Candidate must be a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan.

    • Tibetan refugees who came over to India before 1st January 1962 or persons of Indian origin who have migrated from other countries with the intention of permanently settling in India are also eligible.

  • Age Limit:

    • The age limit for candidates is generally between 20 to 25 years. However, relaxation in age limits is provided for candidates belonging to reserved categories.

  • Educational Qualification:

    • All candidates must have completed a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or equivalent.

  • Physical Standards:

    • Candidates must meet specific physical standards regarding height, chest measurement, and weight as prescribed by the SSC for different posts and categories.
